Ultimate Controller

The Ultimate Controller gadget is unique from all the other Ultimate Jira Dashboard gadgets in that it regulates the pool of issues available as well as things like gadget auto-refresh cycles, which are used by the other Ultimate Jira Dashboard gadgets.

Step #1 - Adding a gadget to the dashboard

Start by filtering the gadget list on the word “Ultimate”…

and look for the Ultimate Controller gadget, then click “Add”

A new instance of the Ultimate Controller gadget should appear on the dashboard, much like this one.

Because this is a newly created gadget, the settings panel is displayed and ready for setting up

Step #2 - Configure the Auto Refresh cycle

The Auto Refresh cycle setting regulates all Ultimate Jira Dashboard gadgets with an Auto Refresh setting of controller.

The following is the complete list of Auto Refresh options available:

  • every minute

  • every 5 minutes

  • every 15 minutes

  • every 30 minutes

  • every 45 minutes

  • every 60 minutes

  • never

Let’s select “every 60 minutes”

Step #3 - Configure the Issue Filter

The Issue Filter setting is for specifying a specific filter used as the base for all other controller and per-gadget issue constraints.

Typically no issue filter is needed, though for organizations having large numbers of projects or issues, it’s likely a good idea to use a controller issue filter to optimize load times and reduce the browser’s memory footprint.

Once completed, click “Save” and let’s see what this looks like!

Step #Finished!
